Thai Food Adventure

“Exactly what it says on the tin.”

From January 2009, I will be leading exclusive tours of Thailand, exploring the food and the culture of the place where I was born.

I want to take you to the great little restaurants and food stalls I come back to again and again, to show you Thailand’s extraordinary beauty, to lead you off the beaten track to interesting, ancient places. And, of course, I want to cook and eat some of the most exciting food in the world.

These tours have been put together in conjunction with my friends at Travel By Design and Trails of Indochina.

In the first, we head north to the province of Chiang Mai, before travelling back over land, through Lampang, Sukhothai and Ayuthaya. We’ll explore Bangkok, the eastern City of Angels, seeing its most famous sites and its curious secrets. And we’ll detour west, to Kanchanaburi.

In the second, we head south to Krabi, and work our way north along the coast to Phuket and Khao Lak, through Ranong, across country to Prachuap Khiri Khan and Hua Hin, returning again to explore Bangkok.

In each tour, I will take you to my favourite foodie places. We’ll eat everything, from formal Thai banquets to up-country forest-foraged dinners. We’ll cook on the beach, learn regional specialities. We’ll visit spectacular ruins, ride elephants and swim in the clear, blue waters of the Thai coast.

So come along.
