The Original Spice Girl

I've written about Susan Feniger and Mary Sue Milliken before. Indeed, I have them to blame (or should I say, thank) for being extraordinarily drunk at 4pm on a sunny LA day after imbibing way too many jerk-infused rum punches. They are heroines of mine. Two women who have remained a constant force in the competitive, male dominated and utterly exhausting restaurant scene.

Here's a fantastic interview with Susan. See how things haven't really changed!?

By the by ? according to the Sunday Telegraph (18th Oct 2009) the BBC apparently classify 98 people in the UK as "celebrity chefs". Only 21 of them are women...

COME ON LADIES!

— for posting this. I'm a big fan of the Border Grill in Santa Monica, and always enjoyed 2 Hot Tamales on Food Network. Susan's a really inspiring chef.
